Introduces the daily maintenance of the IAI products, using each model representatives as an example. Please use these information as a reference for inspection timing, cleaning method and maintenance method.
Daily maintenance is encouraged for troubles, breakdown preventions.
To begin with
Our controllers are mounted with batteries for 「system memory」,「absolute data backup」, etc. either as a standard, or an option.
The timing for the battery replacements differ through the types/working conditions, roughly following as shown next. Please note that the time to replace differs based on the working conditions.
Heading | Reference timing of implementation | |
---|---|---|
Condition Checking | Replacing | |
System memory | Appropriate | 3 years |
Absolute data backup | Appropriate | 3 years |
Based on the controller type, there will be a warning alarm displayed, notifying the drop in the battery performance. Please refer to the 『Warnings on battery voltage dropping』 in the 『Error list』 for the further details.

Replacing system memory backup batteries
Introduces the procedure using an ASEL optionally equipped with 「system memory」battery and 「absolute data 」battery, as an example.
Please save the system memory contents into a ROM using a PC software. System memory contents will be erased if the battery was replaced without saving it.
- 1 Remove the battery connector, and pull out the battery.
- 2 Place the new battery into the holder, and connect the connector. Connect in a manner that the connector hook will be on your right as you face it.
- 3 Please switch ON the controller power supply after replacing the system memory retention battery, and checking that the battery is mounted successfully.
- 4 Reverse the parameter setting into what it was, before the replacement, using PC software, and write it down into the flash ROM after transferring it into the controller.
- 5 Please execute the software reset(controller reboot).
- 6 Once the controller has reboot, please check that the SRAM data is restored.
Replacing absolute data backup battery
The replacing procedure differs based on the error-occurred condition at the battery replacement. Please refer to the controller's user's manual for 『Replacing batteries』 in the 『Maintenance』 for the further details. User's manual could be downloaded from below. User registration is required in order to download.

Introduced the battery replacing procedure for the case where there are no errors.
- 1 Switch OFF the controller power supply. (Both controlling power supply・driving power supply)
- 2 Remove the battery connector and pull out the battery.
- 3 Place the new battery into the holder, and connect the battery connector. Connect in a manner that the connector hook will be on your right as you face it.
- 4 Switch ON the controller power supply.
